Aug 3rd, 2020: Be Aware of What We Are Hearing
Many people I know have children during the last six months. It has
nothing to do with Covid-19, and it is too early for those jokes
anyway. All of them are excited and consumed by the presence of their
new little one in their life. Some are more apprehensive than others
about the world that their kids will have to face. It is time to pray
more than ever before because I am not sure I can trust in any human
solution. It is time to discover the true meaning of surrendering
ourselves to God. In human experience, surrendering implies that we lose
our freedom. In human relationships with God surrendering means freedom
and restoration. Intimate prayers are the outcome of such surrendering.
What is surrendering to God?
We might seek for
the real voice of God at this time. It is not a voice that demands
privileges and proclaims power. It is not a voice that expresses
jealousy and fears. It is not a voice that attacks others. It has to be
the voice that manifests our humility in our relationship with one
another. It is the voice that calls our heart back to what is precious
and beautiful in the lives of others.
We need
to have the courage to live beyond our need for comfort. It is easy to
ignore the cry for help and the needs of others. Sometimes that demands a
solemn transformation of our heart and mind. I know personally very
well when I can fail to surrender my own desire so that others can
experience the care they need. We prefer to leave that to our
governments. It is my conviction that I need to reclaim that
responsibility by surrendering to God.
Be aware
of voices that devour your innocence and destroy our godliness. They
are everywhere. These voices are now trying to eliminate each other as
well. Be wise and don't get involved in their business so that we can be
about each other's destruction. More than ever before, we need to be
the voice that brings compassion, forgiveness, and hope. Our nations
need that at this present time.
Revelation 3: 20
"Here
I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens
the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
