Dec 23rd, 2020: Christmas Blessing - Learn to Appreciate Others

Put On Love - Colossians 3:12, 14 - Lyric Media Lyric Video | Seeds Family Worship

This Christmas is rather relaxing in some ways. After we have come to accept the facts that our kids won't be able to be with us for Christmas, we can channel our energy and time toward other things. Things that we can do something about. Don't get me wrong, I miss my kids dearly, but that won't take away the facts that God has opened new doors for us.

We can learn to be more intentional about getting in touch with family members who live far away. I have been able to have more conversations with some of my nieces and nephews. They open up more because of the stress they have in coping with everything.

We can reach out to friends who we have not heard from for a while or have moved away from Canada because of work. People come into our lives because God allows that to happen. Sometimes we forget that and take our friends for granted. I have learned about how God is at work around the world just by listening to my friends.

We can get to know our neighbors better. Our neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we moved here 31 years ago. We have learned from dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic that having a bunker mentality is not a healthy way to live. We need to belong to a community. There will be no sense of being part of one if we don't know our neighbors.

Learning to appreciate other people in our lives is another Christmas Blessing.

Colossians 3: 12-14

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
