Dec 6th, 2020: Christmas Blessing - Having a Thankful Heart

A Thankful Heart — Cheryll Snow

It was interesting to see people's facial expressions when we say "thank you" to them for the service they provide for us. I went to get a Vietnamese sub as a take out ordet yesterday morning. I asked the young lady who prepared it for me about her day and thanked her for her service. She was delighted that I asked. She opened up and shared with me more about her day. I could see her face just lit up.

Being thankful for others always brings us good health and peace. It opens doors for conversations and pathways to understanding. When we are, we don't worry too much about being right. We are more concerned about having the right relationships with others. Thankful people don't get upset quickly over things that don't matter.

A thankful heart can cover a great deal of pain. It is not easily offended. It always seeks understanding and not judgment. It can be ready to embrace other people's deficiency. When we can have such a heart, we might be able to understand the meaning of Christmas. One of the blessings of Christmas is to have a thankful heart.

"Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" - Ephesians 5: 19-20
