Jan 2nd, 2021: New Year's Perspective - Be Ready for the Unexpected

Is God Sovereign? - Living Grace Fellowship

It was this time last year that we heard about the coronavirus. We went to Montreal the second week of Jan of 2020 to visit my dad. We connected with our nephew and his girlfriend, who just returned from Singapore. They were so surprised by the lack of attention to the virus in Canada. They told me that airports in Taiwan and China were taking the threats very seriously.

What have we learned? Lies, deceits, pride, denials, senior abuse, lack of awareness, lack of preparation, lack of discernment, and carelessness are some of the reasons for where we are today. The troubling reality is that we are witnessing the same causes that might impact the vaccination phases. We cannot go very far in fighting this battle effectively if we don't make a conscious decision about changing the narrative of who we are, where we are going as a society, what we are as a nation and a culture.

Some people I know have expressed their fear about "great reset" and many other conspiracy theories about how a small group of people is working on their plan to control the entire world economically and politically. The people of faith will suffer from tremendous persecution. My answer to that is that we need to pray for the most significant renewal of human history to counter any schemes of the evil one. There will be no wickedness that can hide from the light. Lies and manipulation will be exposed. Remember that no one has the final say, only God Himself.

For the time being, we should continue to go about the mandate that we have: share the good news to all nations, feed the poor, house the homeless, support the isolated, and protect the vulnerable.

John 3: 19-21

"And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
