Feb 19th, 2021: Democracy and Absolute Morality
Conversations about right and wrong are tricky these days. It is not that simple to find the same set of values in our society anymore. We see that happens right after President Biden took office. Different fractions of his party begun to maneuver to establish the influence on the current administration. Value systems are defined by who has the most power to lobby.
Not too long ago, it was not right for anyone to get angry and damage other people's property. Summer 2020 tells us that the mob mentality has taken over the real meaning of democracy. The authority seems to either look the other way or to find excuses for that kind of behavior. We witnessed a celebration of lawlessness in the name of democracy. We have allowed indecency to take over meaningful processes of reasoning.
We used to have the freedom to dialogue about contentious issues concerning human life and well-being without the need to use threatening languages. Self-righteous mobs would show up and protest against any speakers whose opinions they don't like. They are willing to "cancel" other people's right to speak while crying foul if they are dealt with by the police. Unrighteous conduct and contempt now define the fight their fight for righteousness.
The idea of democracy can exist without absolute morality is absurd. Democracy without God is a long and painful process of societal suicide. We have seen various forms of death already, and that will continue to increase. There is much hopelessness in America, and the world has begun to ask what is happening.
Galatians 5: 19-21
"Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."
