Feb 22nd, 2021: To Do What Is Right
I am not going to name the organization that I am about to quote what they put on their website. The quote is a description of its existence. In recent months many businesses have decided to support their causes without doing the needed due diligence of what they really plan to do. Here is the quote:
“We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear-family-structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another”.
Caring for one another should be the extension of how we learn how to care for our family. Talking about the destruction of the family unit contradicts that desire. We have been trying to compensate for the impact of broken homes as a society, and we are still struggling with the damages of the breaking down of family unit. We can care for one another a lot better by starting to care for our families.
This specific organization has also liked to quote Martin Luke King, assuming that he would support their agenda. I am not so sure about that. Here are a few quotes they have used.
"The time is always right to do what is right."
So is it right to be about the destruction of other people's business properties and homes? Is it right to demand the cancellation of western civilization? Is it right not to have any order and law when we live together and care for others?
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "what are you doing for others?"."
Dr. King had a more desirable plan when seeking equality for back people in America. He went about it with his Christian conviction. When we fail to acknowledge that, we betray his intention.
Racism does not have any part of God. We need to learn how to see all people as His precious creation. Christians need to grow up in their knowledge of His divine mercy and truth to fight against that. When we fail to do so, we have allowed other voices to deceive men and women who want to make a difference.
I am going to end this blog with another quote from Dr. King:
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
Amen to that.
Ephesians 2: 14
"For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility"
