Feb 5th, 2021: Where Do We Go From Here?

"Paradise Lost" is the word I am looking for while thinking about what is going on. Many people seem to be unhappy these days. The most current issue in Canada now is the lack of vaccines. The blames are flying, anything from lack of planning, incompetence, and momentary disruption. Patience is not there, and the need "to have it now" seems to be the key among some people. Life without fear of Covid-19 is that new paradise for them. However, we don't seem to understand that life won't be smooth even with the vaccines. The paradise has been lost a long time ago.

We need to resist the temptation to take away vaccines that have been allocated for poor and underdeveloped countries. It will be a sad commentary of humanity if that happens. When we are going through a trying time, we need to rise above the slavery of self-serving. We might believe in the deception that Canada deserves better. I don't think things work that way in the economy of God.

It might be true that life will resume to some degree of normalcy when the majority is vaccinated. We can always hope for that. We also need to acknowledge that the ultimate salvation is not vaccination. How are we going to prepare ourselves to go from one challenge to the next in managing life? Not all answers we need will come from our minds. Some will derive from the condition of our hearts. We might need to find the rest from the longing of our souls.

So if you are waiting for vaccination, be patient. If you happen not to believe in vaccination, be reflective about your decision. Together, let us pray as we learn how to depend on God regardless of our choices.

Psalm 62: 1

"For God alone, my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation."
