April 15th, 2021: Being Sustained by God
I came across this quote from Billy Graham recently while going through some of my old books:
"Explore with me not only the realities of life as we grow older but also the hope and fulfillment and even joy that can be ours once we learned to look at these years from God's point of view and discover His strength to sustain us every day."
Life realities certainly can reveal to us many challenges and blessings. We might be able to look at our challenges as lessons we need to learn about who we are with God and blessings as lessons we need to discover who God is with us.
Sometimes I ask this question: "Have I really made a difference?" I can see the answers through the transformation and hope in the lives of many others. Sometimes they are clear, and sometimes they are not.
We feel joy when our relationships with God are fulfilling. It is fulfilling because He makes us strong in our weaknesses, and He reveals to us the power that will carry us through the ups and downs of life. Joy is not something we can be fabricated. It is a gift to be received.
Mark 12: 20
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
