April 4th, 2021: A Conversation About Easter
It is a tale about a duck couple who decides to go for a walk this Easter morning. It is a beautiful morning, and the sun is so bright and radiant with the early morning light. One cannot ask for a better day for a walk. Here is their conversation.
Duck: "Amazing day. I think many people have forgotten what this day is about!"
Drake: "When we pay attention closely to what is going on in the world today, I don't think they forget. They think they know better."
Duck: "You really think so? We live our lives with hatred, pretension, jealousy, and contempt."
Drake: "Some even believe that human beings are getting more advance. There is no need for God. They can take care of their own destiny."
Duck: "Wow! What we have learned since 2020 is we live in the world that has no answer for its needs of peace, harmony, and understanding."
Drake: "There will be no peace when morality is ridiculed, humility is missing, justice is screwed, and envy is celebrated."
Duck: "Many talks about reset, restart, and cancellation of cultures as if they have the final say over what is right and wrong."
Drake: "So what don't they believe about Easter? I wonder"
Duck: "For many people, sin is a myth although human suffering is real. Human beings can be gods, but God can't reveal Himself in human form. It is not about belief. It is the willingness to look at our human conditions."
Drake: "I guess when we stop believing in God's revelation, we will stop quacking."
Duck: "We can only hope. There is too much quacking about how angry and unhappy we are these days."
Drake: "I am happy that people prefer turkeys over ducks as their choice for Easter dinner."
Duck: "No kidding."
It starts raining, and the sunny sky slowly disappears. A stormy and rainy one is taking over. The duck couple turns around and heads home. It is time for them to be quacking with God.
"Happy Easter"
John 11:25-26:
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'"
