Sept 19th, 2021: Where Should We Look? How Should We Respond?
I have listened to many perspectives about what we should do in dealing with the pandemic. It is easy to criticize the politicians for the decisions they have to make. I don't envy them because it doesn't matter what they decide, some people will be unhappy.
"It depends on where you look" We can look away or look at a challenge in life, and we will have a different understanding of what we are dealing with. We can pay attention to the negativity of life or show favor towards the positivity of life, and we have a complete life experience from one another. We can listen to a news report and decide to ask or not ask questions, and we will have different perspectives of what we hear.
We can talk about our rights as if it is the most critical aspect of life, or we can consider the well-being of others. We can be preoccupied with the corruption of our politicians, or we can decide to show support towards the exhausted medical staff in ICU units across the country. We can be so convinced that something is not right with what is happening, or we can also acknowledge that something is not right within our own hearts.
Where should we consider? The evil in the world or the wickedness of our broken condition.? Should we say that we don't care about others so we can protect our sense of rightness? Should we be so adamant that we are in the right and overlook our spiritual blind spots?
Please seek out the answers to the questions for yourself. We need to learn how to navigate through the next few months with God's guidance if we want to see any hope at all.
1 Peter 1: 6-7
"In this, you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Joshua 1: 9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
