Oct 29th, 2021: Beautiful Soul and Wounded Heart
Some of you have asked me how I come up with ideas about what to write. I just watch people, listen to others and read what I come across daily and then pray. Amazingly, we can discover the secret of our souls and the reflection of our minds.
This picture was what I came across yesterday when I read up on some postings of people I know.
It is true that we might know many people but do we really know them? Do we know what they have carried with them all through their lives?
One told me not too long ago how she was damaged sexually by her brothers during her teen years. She tried to escape, but culturally she could not do that easily. Her coping mechanism is one of self-destruction and hatred. She is a beautiful soul with a wounded heart.
A young man has an intense resentment toward his father due to his father's drug addiction and criminal activity. He could not remember the number of times the police arrested his dad. He grew up with no father. He is trying to set a different course for his life. He is trying to walk away from what has been holding him back. He is a beautiful soul with a wounded heart.
A New Canadian father shared with me recently about his worries in raising children in this new sexual climate. He expresses his fear of his inability to protect his children from the negative impact of the world. He was left unprotected when his parents got killed during racial genocide in his home country. He told me that things turned bad very quickly at that time. He is a beautiful soul with a wounded heart.
As a Christian, I have learned to embrace the suffering of this world with the wounded heart of God. Within that heart, no one will suffer and carry the damages of life alone.
Psalm 34: 18
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit."
