Oct 2nd, 2021:"The Dawn of A New Day"
"The Dawn of A New Day" is what Donna Kennedy Glans named this photograph. As we hope that this pandemic will end, it might be appropriate to pick up on that theme on this day. What are we looking and hoping for this new day?
We will know the true meaning of walking together through the good and the bad periods of life. We will learn to embrace understanding and graciousness as we allow one another space and time to come to terms with what it means to face many of the unknowns in the future. We will learn to wait for one another patiently.
We learn to move on from the mistakes of the past so that we build on a firmer foundation. We will stop demanding our rights and learn to accept our responsibilities as we seek the restoration of our nation together. We decide to walk away from blame and shame, so we know how to walk towards hope and encouragement. We will learn from our history.
We will seek God's direction and guidance in learning how to love so that hate won't be able to deceive us. We forgo our resentment for one another to develop a true sense of restoration in our relationships with each other and God. We embrace the light of this new day and leave behind the darkness of yesterday.
Finally, we will not talk about what we are experiencing so that we can be victims. We share our hurt and pain, so we learn how to overcome barriers that have been there among us. We see all people as God's precious creation and will learn to be thankful for them.
2 Corinthians 5: 14-15
"For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised."
Psalm 118: 24
"This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
