Nov 1st, 2021: Meditation, An Antidote for Mainstream News

I raised my hand indeed when I saw this post on LinkedIn. I am more relaxed and content when I am don't watch Mainstream News these days. I think many of us have become angry, confused, and indifferent while watching TV news.

We are angry because we feel manipulated by TV personalities. Sometimes I wonder why these folks get paid so much to do their job. It is to report what is happening in the world. They do more than that, and we have become their ignorant Guinea Pigs. They always make themselves sound important.

We are confused because we don't know who to believe, what are the true stories and who is saying what. It is like going to a market in Vietnam. Every merchant would raise their voice to catch our attention. After a while, we tune them off so we can have some peace in our minds.

We are indifferent because we don't know the proper response to what we learned from these news networks. We don't want others to take advantage of our good intentions. We distance ourselves from the News and eventually walk away from it altogether.

Meditation might be a good antidote for what we experience. We want to see things clearly, to know the truth, and to care deeply. In meditation, we learn how to have our communion with God, become more in touch with God's revelations, and then respond to others with God"s love and affection. Meditation is more than a religious discipline. It is an intimate encounter with God. I will raise my hand for that one too.

Jeremiah 33: 3

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known."

Isaiah 55: 7

"Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
