Jan 11th, 2022: More About Fear

According to Christianity Today one of the most searched bible verses in 2020 was Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Fear is a troubling response when facing uncertainty, challenging situations, and hardships in life. Fear takes away some of our assumptions about how things should be. Fear open our eyes to what we don't know about the world, ourselves, and sometimes God.

Fear can lead us to either right or wrong actions. It depends on how and where we look for answers and help. Fear can either unite or divide us as a community. It might force us to work together or to work against one another. Our capabilities or inabilities can be the outcome of fear.

Fear might help us ask questions and explore new possibilities. We can also hide or run away because of fear. Managing our fears in life is like adding cream to our cooking. It either can either enhance the flavor or make it very heavy.

Fear and hope have to go together. Our fear for God will confirm that He is our hope and our salvation. The problem we have today we are more afraid of one another and physical diseases than we have fear for God. Now we understand why we are hopeless in finding the answer to our predicament.
