Jan 12th, 2022: Praying Over New Experiences
We have experienced many new things during the last two years. Some of them demand us to pray more intentionally.
Zoom Meetings: not everyone is technologically inclined. Some people need prayer to participate in a Zoom meeting. We pray that we know how to operate the software and remember that we have no privacy anymore. We also pray that we look attentive to what is going on in the meeting because we are sometimes bored to death.
Online Schooling for kids: some parents need a lot of prayers to do this well. Surfing the net is fun for kids as long as it has nothing to do with school. School without friends is no fun for kids. They miss out a lot more than we know. Social interaction is crucial in kids' development. Some parents pray that God stops them from "killing" their kids because of online school.
Watch our minister preaching online for the first time: we know that not everyone can have an online presence, yet many churches have to go online. Public speaking is a special gift, and more than 80% of church ministers don't possess such a gift. That is why we need to pray when we go to church online.
Wondering why we should go back to regular church: many folks have discovered amazing biblical teachings online from the 20%. They are now wondering about the benefits of going back to their old churches when normalcy resumes (that is another prayer). Maybe we need to revisit how we gather and worship prayerfully.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens..."
Isaiah 43: 19
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
