Feb 19th, 2022: Follow The Money

 


It is rather interesting to see how our government decides to go about quenching the trucker protest. It wants to follow the money as the Deputy Prime Minister proudly announced a few days ago. It is one of the gross violations of personal privacy in this country. Freezing bank accounts of people who support these truckers is another abusive exercise of power. Here is my submission to the government and all of the MPs in Ottawa on how we should follow their money:

All politicians should allow an independent body to examine their personal and immediate family investment portfolios. We need to be sure that they have not benefited by either direct influence or kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies, their subsidiaries, and suppliers.

I am not interested in conspiracy theory. However, we can easily overcome conspiracy with transparency. We need to be sure that there is no collusion between our government and corporate businesses. When that exists, we have a new form of fascism. That seems to be what we face in this country.

It has been the accusation from the government towards the truckers that there is foreign money that supports these truckers. So what? We have been supporting pastors working in countries that forbid them to preach the Gospel. Does that mean we are terrorists? Furthermore, did our government ask where the money that supports Black Life Matters in Canada or the Anti Pipeline protest come from? These protests produced more violence than the trucker convoy ever did. The Prime Mister went out and joined these BLM protesters in 2020. It was the direct violation of his mandate for a complete lock-out at the time. That is the hypocrisy that does not sit well with me.

I am waiting for a reply about my suggestion of following our politicians' money. Just give us a chance to trust you for once.

Sept 4th, 2024: Praying in Images

It has been a rough few days. Living in immense pain does not allow us much energy to think about anything. I ended up praying in images, and not many words came out of my mouth. Most of the images were of people I know. God knew that I was praying for them as their faces came to my mind. I did not need to mention the circumstances or situations of their lives—He knows. My heart was at peace as I ended my days with these images. He will take care of my body, and I know this because I was able to get some sleep. Tomorrow is in His hands.

Oct 1st, 2022: Be With Those Who Suffer

  Listening to a young woman who shared her experience of being raped repeatedly by a family member for over four years as a teenager made my heart ache. The man who did that was a leader of a church. He was imprisoned for seven months and released. He was her stepfather. Her mother chose to pick him over her after his release. Her life has changed forever. She had to go to a foster home. Her foster parents helped her with her restoration and her faith in God. Her supervisor at work asked me to see her because someone at work was inappropriate toward her. That triggered many emotions within her. I did not expect the story I heard from her. The meeting took longer than I thought, and it was toward the end of the day. She kept talking about her anger and the pain she felt when men treated her like a subject.
