Macrh 1st, 2022: Exodus

This is the summary of text conversations we had with two female teenagers since the Russian invasion. We know them via the work of HART.

We hear that they are going to attack.

We are home and safe for now.

Try to decide whether we should head to Poland.

But we just don't know-how.

Everyone is panicking.

Shelling and explosion heard in our city.

Pray for us as we are scared.

It won't be long before Russians are going to be in our vicinity.

They destroyed a factory near us.

Martial law is in effect.

Please pray for our safety and our decision.

We have no idea what to expect.

Just let you know we are on our way to the border.

We will have our mother with us.

We drive as far as we can, then we might have to walk.

Many people are in the same direction in this Exodus.

It took us a while, and we are finally in Poland.

Most of us are women and young children.

Many have left their husbands, fathers, and brothers behind.

They will stay and fight, and many hearts are stricken.

We are looking forward to meeting our Canadian friends.

They have just left home to come to Poland to see us.

We feel a lot safer when they are here.

Many changes in a short time, it's a challenge to adjust.

Exodus 23: 9

"Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners because you were foreigners in Egypt."

Deuteronomy 10: 18

"He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing."
