March 18th, 2022: Is Life An Algorithm?
Many years ago, it was common for a young man to marry the young lady of his mother's choice.
It was culturally accepted and expected. It was not about not having a voice.
After all, some people thought she knew who was best for her son.
Nowadays, computer algorithms have taken the role of telling us how love matches can be done.
A mother once told me that she had got a wife for her introverted male born.
My question was: "Did you find her in a catalogue in some hair salon?"
A young lady told me that she had received match recommendations for her Harmony profile.
Now she needs to take time to discern who would fit her lifestyle.
Some scientists and philosophers believe that our entire selves can be hacked.
It is not just love. They believe that human thoughts, feelings, and desires can be tracked.
Love can be challenging but being surveillance is utterly unsafe.
How can we protect ourselves when software begins to analyze us for the state?
We need to gain confidence in who we are in God.
We should not give in to the manipulation of the evil's plot.
For in God that we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17: 28)
We are not a product of some artificial intelligence's framing.
As my father said to me that although my grandmother chose my mom to be his bride,
it was his choice to learn how to love mom and made her be his pride.
It is God who decides to create us in His image.
It is now our decision to make our life a pilgrimage.
