March 22nd, 2022: Weariness of Social Media
"Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not." - 1 Timothy 5: 13
Like billions of others, I have a Facebook account,
I don't use it much, so I can really do without.
It was an innocent beginning because it helps keep track of friends.
Now I am so sure as social media has created many be wicked trends.
It is now the busiest mining business of our time.
Governments, businesses, and many others have used it to mine personal information without committing a crime.
They spy and monitor what we post and view;
our thoughts, political perspectives, and shopping habits to some are not new.
Our information is available for sales on the social media market.
They sell us as if we are their property to reach their target.
Some people cannot get enough of Facebook.
It is an addiction that many have by hook or by crook.
Others might have used it to cope with boredom.
Somehow other people's lives seem to be more excited than their humdrum.
Depression caused by social media is on the rise.
Jealousy and envy combination has the root of our demise.
In some ways, we have become faceless on Facebook.
Our friend list provides far less comfort than our cozy nook.
