March 7th, 2022: What Should We Wonder About?
"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people." - 2 Timothy 3: 1-5
Time of difficulty is what we have
Are we facing the last days, some may ask?
Lovers of self and money are not that inaccurate.
Soon enough, God will call us to the task.
We seek pride, arrogance, and abusiveness.
It is our way or the highway.
We even tell our parents that.
Disobedience and ungratefulness are the roots of our own dismay.
Heartlessness and unholiness are our life's pursuit.
Our relationships with one another are slanderous and without self-control.
Brutality and hate describe the core of our existence.
We ignore wise counsel and let reckless roll.
In our own conceit, we proclaim that life is about self-serving pleasure.
Loving God is passé, but we retain our appearance of godliness.
We continue our search for power to serve the diminishing self.
Should we wonder why we end up in such a treacherous mess?
