Nov 24th, 2020: Praying in Transition

Smoother Transitions for Children on the Autism Spectrum | Psychology Today Canada

Yesterday I mentioned that transition demands us to pray. How do we pray, and what we are praying for during transition? Sometimes it is a challenge to pray while going through our transition. Our thoughts are all over the place during such a time. It might be helpful to think through why we need to pray.

Pray that we learn how to be compassionate to one another. We seem to lose our patience very quickly these days because we feel like we are walking on the edge. There are many more questions than answers. Being compassionate to one another might be a good idea because it will slow our emotions down and help us to see things better.

Pray for the generosity of our hearts so that we will be able to discern what will be the next step we need to take. Generous hearts will be free to ask more questions without expecting answers immediately. Our generosity will open doors for others in their lives, and it will also open doors for our lives. A generous heart will create opportunities all around.

Pray that we can seek wisdom. There is no hope, no faith, and no love if there is no wisdom. We can transit from point A to point B in our life only to discover that God is the same at B as He was at A. Our transition will grant us our understanding of faith, appreciation for hope, and a loving spirit. All of that needs to happen in the context of seeking God first. That is the beginning of wisdom.

We will continue or experience many changes in the next few months. Some of these changes will be unsettling for us. So let us be wise, be patient, and be faithful as we manage our dreams, our hope, and our faith.

Ephesians 3: 17-19

"So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have, strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
