Sept 2nd, 2021: Psalm 51: 5-6

Now we can feel the tension David felt. It is the tension of being impacted by the original sin and longing for God's mercy. The spiritual battle started when we were in our mother's womb.

"Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place."

When we deny the truth about original sin, we will also overlook God's faithfulness in human history. We become anxious about everything. We cannot perceive what we are dealing with. We have no ideas about how things are going to be. We become restless within our souls and as a society.

What does it mean to long for God's wisdom in facing the reality of our time?

Walk away from the need for the power of the world and let God preserve our lives. Much of the noise we have heard recently is about the fight for more power and right. Its pursuit can be a form of spiritual blindness. (Ecclesiastes 7)

We need to know what it means to long for wisdom. The world wants understanding without it. God desires wisdom before understanding. Without it, we cannot see God and accept the depth of Jesus' sacrifice for humanity. (Proverbs 3:13)
